Assalamu Alaikum and Welcome Back!
I am excited to be returning to the Universal Academy of Pittsburgh (UAP) this year, my 6th at the school. I will be teaching grades 4, 5, and 6 the subjects of Language Arts and Social Studies for the 2015-2016 school year. The purpose of this website is for both parents and students to have access to important documents and information that are used in class and at home.
I have updated this website, and moved some links around, so please explore by using the menu tabs at the top of the page. If you click on "Information for All Students," you will find a copy of the Supply List and Communication Binder information, as well as my personal contact information.
To view assignments and important information specific to you (or your student), please click on either the "Language Arts" or "Social Studies" tabs, and then choose the correct grade level.
The "Spelling Bee" link will soon be updated, in shaa Allah. It will have important information about the class, school, and area spelling bees. Please note that we are not allowed to post the word lists online (part of the rules of the Scripps National Spelling Bee), but they will be sent home via your student's homeroom teacher as a hard copy (and you may request an emailed version as well).
By choosing "UAP School News," you will be able to see the current school calendar, including important dates, as well as the most recent school newsletters. On the "Goals and Methods" page, you will find academic information that may help you better understand the goals and processes of UAP as a whole.
"Important Links" has a rather long list of sites you may find useful this year. Those include the UAP website, other teachers' websites, information about the Common Core Standards, bullying facts, and educational games.
Please do not hesitate to contact me directly with any questions or concerns that are not answered on this site.
I look forward to another fun, productive year at the Universal Academy of Pittsburgh! Let's REACH FOR THE STARS together!
